This is me and my sisters painting our pottery.
This is pottery I saw in a shop. And we bought pottery like this. We bought a Vietnamese coffee maker and a tea pot and tea cups.
This is me with my friends Sam and Hoa.
Making pots was very weird. Because we had to spin the wheel with our hand. It was really weird. I needed someone to help me the entire time I was throwing a pot. The clay was way different. It was practice clay. My pot kept breaking because I wasn't used to that type of clay. We all did two tries. They fired the pot for 30 minutes over a fire with logs and a heating coil. It was still soft when it was done. My sister, Serena's pot already broke.
We went to a pottery factory. We didn't get to see how the pottery made because people kept grabbing at our skin and hair. I didn't like it but it was fun to watch what they were doing to Alison.
Maya, your writing is so great too! Throwing a pot is really hard, it takes so much practice - how fun that you got to try it!
