Alison in Hanoi day 2

Today we went to Hoan Kiem Lake! We walked through some very very heavy traffic. When we walked through the traffic a motorbike came right at us but we did not change our pace and we luckily got though.

When we got there it was beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was pretty shady. We walked around the lake. On the way two girls took our picture they were really nice.

We went though a pretty gate but we had to pay. When we were inside the gate a little girl who was 12 and her little sister who was 8 tried to sell us some post cards we said we would buy some after we saw a temple. We crossed a bridge. When we got to the temple we saw a person try to pet a cat and the cat bit her and scratched her. We can't pet cats and dogs in Vietnam because they might carry rabies. So then we went into a temple where people were burning incense that smelled good. There was a statue in the room and people left offering to it such as money, cigarettes, alcohol, food, and flowers. We were hot and tired so we took a cab home.

Later in the day Maya, my dad and I went to buy fruit from a woman who was selling fruit on the sidewalk. We bought a lot of different looking fruit. After we bought the fruit we walked around town a bit and when we crossed the street there was a motorbike coming right at us but it didn't hit us. At home we tried a lumpy green fruit and it looked disgusting but it turned out to be delicious. It tasted a little bit like mango, but less strong and more creamy. It tasted really good.

  1. These pictures remind me so much of the parks and temples in China. Sounds like it was a great day! That fruit sounds like it was delicious!

  2. I love that picture of the bridge. It DOES look a lot like China there. It's a lot of fun to travel along with you through your pictures and stories.
