On the plane ride to Seoul, Korea I saw the coast of California. It was beautiful! I also saw the Aleutian Islands it was very interesting. Another interesting thing I saw was the mountains in Japan. It was the best of all of them. They were beautiful, amazing, interesting, awesome, and wonderful!
Alison in Hanoi day 1
Hanoi is very different from Colorado. Here are some reasons why. First the streets are completely different. There are no stoplights. Pedestrians just have to go whenever they want. Cars and motorbikes swerve around pedestrians as they walk across the road. It is pretty scary business! People use horns just to say hi, I'm passing by. Most people ride motorbikes or bikes.
Next is that the sidewalks are cobble stone. Also when we walk down the street people stare at us or say hello because we look completely different. Most stores don't have any doors. Inside some little stores there are no lights and it is pretty dim. There's an announcement along with music outside in the morning and evening. It blasts in the street.
When it's lunch or breakfast people sit on little stools and eat at little tables right in the middle of the sidewalk. The is cooked outside on the sidewalk and you can easily knock it over if you don't look where you are going.
If you read this, you'll know just how different Hanoi is from Colorado.
Here are some pictures I took today.
Great pictures, Alison, and an interesting description of the city. I hope you enjoy this very different experience!
