I ate breakfast…
I got dressed…
I went outside…
I explored the humungous city. The traffic is way different. There are no stop lights and people just cross whenever they want and they cross when cars are coming. They have lots and lots and lots of motor bikes. Some motor bikes have bicycle wheels and some look like small motorcycles. The first time we went out of the apartment to explore we tried to find a restaurant to eat breakfast. We saw lots and lots of shops. They weren't like shops in Colorado. They were smaller and dirtier. And most of the shops had no doors and it was very cool. The restaurants we tried were closed. We could have eaten on the sidewalk. Instead we bought bread, cheese and water and ate at home.
We can't drink water from the faucet because it could make you very sick and have to go to the hospital. So we got a water dispenser to fill our water bottles and glasses.
The second time we went out, we tried to find a grocery store. We found one and bought rice, Hello Panda cookies, Corn Flakes, orange juice, guava juice, soy milk, milk, soap, a scrub brush, and a dust pan. The grocery store was not like in Fort Collins. There was much different foods. It was much smaller. It was a big building with other shops. And it wasn't just food. It had a shelf of stuffed animal, shoes, and it even had clothes.
On the way to the store, we saw people eating lunch on little tiny stools with little tiny tables. The sidewalk was so crowded we had to go around in the street. They were eating brown noodle with vegetables and they were in soup. We also so people carrying buckets on their shoulder with vegetables. I got my picture taken with a big snowman. And it is really humid. They we went back to the apartment.
When I first came out of the airport, I thought Hanoi was going be mostly rice paddies. But, it wasn't. It was a big great city.
Here are some pictures I took today with my own camera.
